4.LO2- Initial research into audio-visual promos

Food Network TV ident-
The target audience for this TV channel would be people that love to cook and men and women aged 28-60. This is due to cooking this for a family and its a cooking channel with lots of people showing tutorials on how to cook food e.g. Jamie Olivers 15 minute meals, which means not a lot of people under the age of 28 would watch these shows. The typical schedule is that during the day and afternoon, it shows cooking shows and challenges like cake boss which is a tv show that shows contestants battle out a challenge to create a cake and design it themselves to win money and recognition. Food Network programming is divided into a daytime block known as "Food Network in the Kitchen" and a primetime lineup branded as "Food Network Nighttime". Generally, "In the Kitchen" is dedicated to instructional cooking programs, while "Nighttime" features food-related entertainment programs, such as cooking competitions, food-related travel shows, and reality shows. During the evening and night, it shows food shows that are reviewing foods from different channels such as Diners, Drive-ins and Dives which is a show that Guy Fieri reviews all of the different foods that American diners have so that people would enjoy watching hm eat and also see if they would try the food from that specific restaurant. Food network also has shows that get a person to try and sort out a restaurant that is falling to bits and not getting good reviews on their food for example; Restaurant: Impossible, which is hosted by Robert Irvine. The genre for this channel is entertainment and education since for people who would like to pass time would watch this but for those that are wanting to learn how to cook from a famour professional chef. I think this channels ident's theme is cooking and food since its shows are all cooking and reviews.The current ident is a mix from the chicken recipe thats done through stop motion, to a whole recipe on making a nutty chocolate cake but the one that is most popular is this chicken wings one since the recipe is very simple and you don't even need any instructions/words to know what to do since its simple. Food Networks idents are all similar as they are a food channel and they add these idents as a way of showing what they show on their channel. They also end in their popular logo surrounded by the food in the background.
 E4 TV ident-
The target audience for this channel is for families and anyone aged over 15. This is due to the ident being funny when two of the clay men go on a hike on what seems to be the side of the E4 logo and then they fall together by accident which then ends up in both of the clay men combining together to form a squashed clay and then it slowly gets carved into the E4 logo. The genre for this channel is to entertain people as majority of their shows are comedic and it shows the shows that people cant wait for the next episode. The theme of this tv channel is purely to get the audience some time on their own to watch something they like for example my favourite is Brooklyn Nine Nine. The schedule of channels shows that each tv show is every 30 minutes, so when a programme starts, the next one would be 30 minutes after. Also after the watershed (9pm) the more explicit tv shows are shown such as The Big Bang Theory but during the day it shows shows like Brooklyn Nine Nine, however the whole tv channel shows more of the tv shows that are for people aged 15 and above. Throughout the day, the same shows run such as The Big Bang Theory, Hollyoaks and Brooklyn Nine Nine. Inbetween each wait for the next episode, just before a new show was about to start, a new ident would be shown and they are all fun to watch.
